Loaded with flavor, rice or beans and a variety of hearty toppings! A must make!
You can add anything you want to these protein packed burrito bowls!! Great meal prep!
RECIPE:
1 pound 99% ground turkey
3/4 cup diced onion
2 cloves garlic minced
1 cup salsa
2 tablespoons taco seasoning
3/4 cup water
2 cups cooked rice
OR
1 can black beans- drained and rinsed
Optional toppings: Shredded cheese, diced tomatoes, corn, black beans, avocado, green onions, shredded lettuces, lime wedges, cilantro
Warm skillet and add ground turkey and garlic and cook until meat is no longer pink; about 5 minutes. Drain any liquid and return meat mixture to the pan.
Stir in salsa, taco seasoning and water. Bring to a boil, then cover and reduce heat to low. Simmer for 10-15 minutes or until sauce is thickened and reduced.
To assemble: Layer cooked rice o beans into the bottom of 4 serving bowls. Top with turkey taco meat and other toppings as desired.
