Ground Turkey Burrito Bowl

Loaded with flavor, rice or beans and a variety of hearty toppings! A must make!

You can add anything you want to these protein packed burrito bowls!! Great meal prep!


RECIPE:

  • 1 pound 99% ground turkey

  • 3/4 cup diced onion

  • 2 cloves garlic minced

  • 1 cup salsa

  • 2 tablespoons taco seasoning

  • 3/4 cup water

  • 2 cups cooked rice

OR


1 can black beans- drained and rinsed

  • Optional toppings: Shredded cheese, diced tomatoes, corn, black beans, avocado, green onions, shredded lettuces, lime wedges, cilantro


  • Warm skillet and add ground turkey and garlic and cook until meat is no longer pink; about 5 minutes. Drain any liquid and return meat mixture to the pan.

  • Stir in salsa, taco seasoning and water. Bring to a boil, then cover and reduce heat to low. Simmer for 10-15 minutes or until sauce is thickened and reduced.

  • To assemble: Layer cooked rice o beans into the bottom of 4 serving bowls. Top with turkey taco meat and other toppings as desired.
